Two Samples of Students' Practical Projects

Note to the Appendix

For both students and tutors, two samples of students' practical projects are included. In order to give you an authetic picture of what real-life students' projects look like, no editing has been made on the original texts, although the original formats and layouts have been slightly altered in order to cut the length of the appendix to its tolerable size.

Note that the samples should not be treated as the models for students to follow blindly.

The authors of the present book would like to take this opportunity to thank the two students who are kind enough to allow their projects to be included in the appendix.

6.Problem Unsolved

After I thought seriously and had exchanges of views on the project with my students, I found out that although atmosphere in the oral tasks had been improved a lot through the full-scaled implementation, there was still much that would need further improvement. Only when I make continuous reflection in my teaching, can I make greater progress. The most frequently mentioned problems can be categorized into three aspects:

Firstly, the problem of the textbook: Vocabulary is small, and oral practice in textbook is too simple.
Secondly, the way of teaching: I should provide more interesting and practical oral tasks.
Thirdly, the way of learning: Some students are lacking interest in studies. They have some wrong ideas about their studies. They muddle with their work; Some students enjoy playing, so they always have no enough time to do their homework; Other students are weak in English. They cannot complete their homework by themselves quite often.
